Free School Meals

Children eligible for free school meals can benefit from a national voucher scheme whilst they stay at home.

The scheme will allow schools to provide every eligible child with a weekly shopping voucher worth £15 to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed due to coronavirus. The voucher can be sent electronically, or as a gift card for those without internet.

If your child is eligible, you can claim your voucher by sending an email to info@kingjames.school

Full details of this scheme can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-free-school-meals-guidance

If you receive an email stating the following ‘As schools will be closing, if you’re entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we’ll make sure you’re supported’, we can confirm that this is a scam email and is not official.

Emotional Well-being

There is a new out of hours Mental Health support line for people who may need urgent support, this includes children and young people. These have been set up quickly to support our health services by keeping people out of A&E for mental health concerns where possible. If someone out of hours needs to speak to someone immediately about an urgent mental health concern they can call 01924 316830. The team managing this are in contact with the CAMHS duty and crisis team in order for follow ups to the calls to be managed.
